I travel a lot!
When I started 30 years ago, I had paper maps with me. Sometimes not even that. Sometimes all I had was hearsay of a place that should be amazing and I had to go and try to find it and check it out myself.
When I was in Tikal in Guatemala 25 years ago, we were 6 turists there. 6.
Near the border of Mexico, there was a set of twin pyramids and I snuck up on top of one and slept there – alone and undisturbed.
Different times.
Today it’s hard to find a place that hasn’t already been reviewed on Tripadvisor or Google Maps. It’s ok. Everybody deserves to see the sites of the world if that’s what they dream about!
I still travel. But now it’s a lot easier because of Google Maps. And not only the long stretches, but also the shorter trips in cities are made a lot easier with this app.
Even so, I know a lot of people who are scared to use it, who doesn’t understand it or who haven’t tried it yet.
This video I made because I wanted to show you just how amazingly easy it is to use Google Maps to find your way around.
But before I do that I’ll tell you on a sidenote, that you can also share your location and that way find others really easily. The thing is – you’ll get the location in THEIR language – and even I don’t understand russian or bulgarian. If I share my location, it will be in Danish, because my phone is set up to be Danish. If this happens to you, don’t panic – look in upper right corner for the three little dots; touch them and you will get the option to “Open in Google Maps” – and that will be in your own language!
There – let’s move on to the video. If you have any questions, feel free to write me, send me a PM or simply comment the video 🙂
Happy travels!
